What is Islamic Scripture?

It is an educational program dedicated to providing Islamic education to Muslim students in New South Wales Public Schools. It is a project offered under the guidance of Darulfatwa the Islamic High Council of Australia and has been running for decades with the approval of the Department of Education and Communities.

What is our Islamic Special Religious Education program?

The lessons implement a specifically tailored Islamic education program for Muslim students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The program is designed to teach Muslim students the basics of Islam, nurture them to develop a strong sense of identity and purpose and inspire them to lead productive lives by contributing positively to themselves, their communities, their society and the world. The program emphasises social cohesion and is provided to all Muslims students, regardless of their sectarian groupings. The aim of the program is to teach students to love, learn and implement Islam as upright Australian citizens.

Our History

Imam Muslim related from the Prophet, peace be upon him, that he said what means:

“The angels lower their wings out of humbleness to the student seeking the Knowledge of the Religion, because of their delight with his deed.”

In following the Islamic tradition of seeking knowledge, we have been teaching Islam in government schools for decades as a means of encouraging the development Islamic educational grounding in Muslim youth in New South Wales.

With this goal in mind we worked within the community to establish Islamic education classes within public schools across New South Wales. Our aim was to teach all students a range of foundational principles that are an integral part of knowing how to be an Australian Muslim, regardless of their level of education or status. We work with dedicated staff to provide a quality educational service for all students. This is delivered by a team of dedicated teachers that work in both primary and secondary schools.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to providing all Muslim students across New South Wales with weekly access to Islamic education. We aim to inspire and empower our youth to develop a strong sense of social belonging in order for them to contribute positively to their own development, their society’s development, and the development of good communities around the world.

From the beginning we have been steered by a dedicated team of volunteers, who direct their time and efforts toward working for the betterment of our children.
